Here's how I made my own super inexpensive and HE safe (very low suds) homemade all-natural laundry detergent.
Supplies (these were found in our chain grocery store's laundry aisle):
- Borax Soap
- Fels-Naptha Bar Soap
- Washing Soda
For a light load of just semi-dirty clothes, use One Tablespoon and use Two Tablespoons for a heavy load or REALLY dirty clothes.
Laundry detergent is just the beginning of our "go green" kick. I'll be replacing even more household cleaners, making my own shampoo, and replacing our paper towels with fabric napkins and cleaning rags. Interested in making the switch, too? Young House Love compiled an amazingly extensive list of all-natural cleaning solutions. There's also a liquid version of this that I think I'll try next time. Check it out!
So I'm wondering... How well does this homemade detergent work? Have you experienced any cons and are you still using it?
ReplyDeleteIt's been working great! I use two scoops for heavily soiled loads and I wash on either a hot/cold or warm/cold cycle. Really no cons. It does a great job.
DeleteIt's really amazing! Is this really work well? I am going to prepare it once. If its work fine, this is good new for Eco-friendly lovers.
ReplyDeleteYes it really does! :)
