14 Days of Valentines: Day 2 LOVE Felt Hanging Decor

Day 2 of 14 Days of Valentines has arrived, a countdown to Valentine's Day one craft at a time.

I just love today's project.  It was inspired by the ever-recognizable Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture.  There's something striking in its simplicity and I just couldn't wait to pay homage to it for 14 Days...through felt, of course!

And here's how it was done.

Supplies:
  • Felt
  • Ribbon
  • Craft Glue

Create, print and cut out your template.  I used the font "Minion Pro Bold."

Trace the template twice onto the felt.  The first right side up and then the second will be the reverse, so flip it that template over and get to tracing.  (This will keep any tracing lines from being visible.)

Cut out felt pieces.

Adhere both sides together.  Don't forget to include the ribbon.

Let dry and hang!  (I created the felt hearts by the same steps above, but instead of using craft glue I embroidered them together by using a blanket stitch.

Day 2 down, 12 more to go!
